Since 1998, the Namos GmbH* (formerly operating under the name BoneMaster GmbH) is a successful spin-off from the Technical University Dresden (Germany). The Namos GmbH engages in R&D in the bio-nanotechnology field with the objective of developing defined surfaces with the help of biological molecules.

In the preceding years, Namos has successfully developed a particularly bioactive coating for bone implants. Meanwhile, one of the largest global implant manufacturers has brought this coating to market.

After this success, the Namos Company has widened its technology base. This base includes the exploitation of complex biological molecules as easy to use templates for the simplified nanoscale design of surfaces with defined functionality and excellent properties.

Right now, the company concentrates on using biological templates to develop optimized catalytically active surfaces. In this endeavor, Namos can draw on many years of R&D and basic research experience in the field sometimes in partnership with entrepreneurs in and around the German city of Dresden and different regions within the European Union.
